What is Experimental Photography?

There are a few different types of experimental photography. All involve using the realistic images given by film. This means using different process techniques. There are a few different genres of experimental photography:

• Photomontage
• Photograms
• Solarization
• Gum Prints

• Non Traditional Cameras
• Transfer Printing Processes

Scanography

There are many different techniques for creating scanograms. Many scanographers have developed their own styles. Scanography is taking digitized images of objects for creating printable art using a photo scanner.

Emulsion Transfers 

Emulsion Transfers is when you take a photo, use PVA glue to cover the top layer of the photo. The next step is to wait until it is dry, and then gently peel of the layer of the photo which leaves you with an emulsion transfer which you can stick onto another photo or piece of paper.

Projection Photography

Projection Photography using a person, animal or object and using a projector to vibrate a colorful photo or print onto the persons body which creates a projection shot. Ensuring your projected colours are as bright and vibrant as possible will give you the best photo.

Double Exposures

Double Exposure is a photographic technique that combines 2 different images usually using a projector into a single image.
